Review of Display Week 2012 - Society of Information Display

On Wednesday, June 6th, Touchstone Technology attended Display Week in conjunction with the Society of Information Display in Boston, MA and what an informative and wonderful experience it was. It was not Touchstone’s first time attending the conference, but we were treated to a lot of great, new products this year; such as an LCD panel at the LG exhibit.
A lot has changed since the first cell phone was introduced, and LG blew our mind with their new product. The LG 5” Full HD panel display is the highest resolution panel to date. The LCD panel is based on AH-IPS (Advance High Performance In-Panel Switching) technology, which features 440ppi and 1920x1080 resolution, providing for the first time Full HDTV quality on a smartphone. It truly was an amazing product to see in person and we are curious to see where it will go.
Along with great products, there were also great demonstrations of what companies that attended the conference can do. Loctite gave an informative demonstration on adhesive for touchscreen products. Actually, their entire exhibit was one big demonstration, having a different set up at each corner. It was an attraction that caught our eye and we were glad to have stopped by.
Finally, the exhibits showcased would not be able to operate without there employees. Since it was my (Marie) first time attending the conference, everyone was new for me, but it was great to finally put faces to the emails and social media posts and connect with our contacts from Avnet and Zytronic to name a few. Also, Eric introduced me to a lot more individuals and he himself was able to catch up with some old friends.
Overall, Display Week was a great success and we at Touchstone look forward to seeing all the new products, companies, and old and new friends at Display Week next year.
